PROFILE OF DR. ANU SHOBA JOSE

Dr.Anu completed MBBS from Academy of Medical Sciences, Pariyaram, Kannur in 2002. After her graduation, she worked as a general practitioner, for 16 yrs in many reputed hospitals, which included 5 years of practice in UAE. She has also acquired Post graduate diploma in Family Medicine, with distinction from Department of distance education, CMC Vellore, in 2012. She is known for her empathetic and sincere approach towards patients. While doing general practice, she came across many patients with vague physical complaints which could be better treated with Psychological support. Her eagerness to explore and learn more about these diseases, guided her to learn Psychiatry. Her sincere effort got rewarded when she completed a Diploma in Psychological Medicine. She also underwent training in Child Psychiatry, Deaddiction treatment at NIMHANS, Bangalore as part of her course. She actively involves in various social welfare programmes and offers her services in medical camps organized by various NGOs, as a part of her social commitment. She is keen on addressing social factors influencing the course and outcome of mental illness in the best possible ways. She carefully incorporates psychotherapy, lifestyle changes, and behavior modification into her treatment in order to help her patients achieve fuller, happier lives. Her areas of special interest include Public health awareness programmes and child guidance. She consults patients at MAGJ Hospital Mookkannoor and Divine Hospital.
